Kibyratis Conference

For participants arriving by plane:

There are a couple of choices for the travel from the Airport to the City of Vienna (Guesthouses Benediktushaus and Residenz) or to the 9th district of Vienna (Guesthouse Ani):

— CAT (City Airport Train): arrival at the end of line “Wien-Mitte”, 9 € (one way); the ticket can be prebooked under www.cityairporttrain.com.

— Schnellbahn S7: also arrival in the Station “Wien-Mitte”, 4 € (one way). You can buy a “two zone” ticket or a “72 hours” ticket on the airport (see also the explications below for the public transport in Vienna).

In “Wien Mitte” you go one station with the underground line 3 (orange), direction “Ottakring” to “Stubentor”. Here you take the tramway line 2, direction “Ottakring/Erdbrustgasse”, enjoying a little Sightseeing-Tour along the famous “Ringstraße”. The guests of the guesthouses Benediktushaus and Residenz get off at “Schottentor”. The guests of the guesthouse Ani change the line in this station by taking the tramway line D, direction “Nussdorf”, to get off at “Seegasse”.

— Airportbus: Arrival Schwedenplatz (City), 7 € (one way)

At "Schwedenplatz” you take the tramway line 1, direction “Stefan Fadinger Platz”. The guests of the guesthouse Ani change the line at “Börsegasse/Wipplingerstraße” to tramway D, direction “Nussdorf” (on the opposite site of the Ringstraße), and get off at “Seegasse”. The guests of the guesthouses Benediktushaus and Residenz get off at “Schottentor”.

—   Share-Taxi: one way from 27 € onwards per car (maximum 3 persons with one luggage and suitcase each) from the airport to any alighting point in Vienna. It is advisable to prebook a car online, for example under Vienna Airport Taxi, Taxi Fixpreis, Taxifunk Schwechat, Stardriver.

— Taxi: when ordered in advance, about 35 € (one way), for example Taxi 40100 oder 31300

For participants arriving by train:

at the Terminal Westbahnhof:

The guests of the guesthouses Benediktushaus and Residenz go with the underground line 3 (orange), direction “Simmering” to “Volkstheater”. Here you change to the underground line 2 (lilac), direction “Schottenring”, and get off at “Schottentor”. The guests of the guesthouse Ani go with the underground line 3 (orange), direction “Simmering” to “Bellaria/Mariahilferstraße”. Here you change to the tramway line D, direction “Nussdorf”, enjoying a little Sightseeing-Tour along the famous “Ringstraße” and get off at “Seegasse”.

The guests go with the tramway line D, direction “Nussdorf”, enjoying a little Sightseeing-Tour along the famous “Ringstraße”. The guests of the guesthouses Benediktushaus and Residenz get off at “Schottentor”, the guests of the guesthouse Pension Ani at “Seegasse”.

For participants arriving by car:

When you arrive with your own car, you have to notice that you have to pay parking fees from 9 to 22 hours in the districts 1-9, 12, 14-17 and 20. Please contact the conference office for the best parking choice.

Public transport in Vienna (www.wienerlinien.at)

The participants have two choices for using the public transport in Vienna during the length of the conference

a)    to buy a “72 hours” ticket for 14,50 € at all counters and ticket machines of the “Wiener Linien” (www.wienerlinien.at) and at most of the tobacconistʼs shops (Tabak Trafik) in Vienna or
b)    to order and print out in advance a “congress ticket” under K37g@wienerlinien.at. This ticket costs 14,70 € for three days. Bookings in addition to this ticket such as the CAT-ticket (City Airport Train) are possible. A foto will not be necessary.
